Electronic Time Clocks with a USB interface can work without a computer present at the work place as all data can be loaded onto a USB stick and transported to PC at another location. An example is a cafe, where no typically no computers are present but a need for employee time clocks is required. Employees can clock in and out daily and at the end of the week the USB stick can be loaded with the data and taken back home or to the office to process payroll.
